Equine-Assisted Personal Development (EAPD) is about creating metaphors for real life through equine interactions. In an EAPD session, clients interact with horses 'at liberty' (free) in an enclosed area. Thought provoking exchanges between client and consultant occur as the client performs simple activities with the horse.
Each interaction unfolds naturally, allowing individuals to exercise power of choice and creative problem solving. The horses provide clear feedback about what's not working and, even better, they help us discover what does work, and give us opportunities to practice and improve.
